Today is the first day of Screen Free Week! I am going to take the pledge to turn off the TV and video games. And I am going to try really hard to stick with it! We don’t have a cable subscription but we do use services like Hulu and Netflix to watch TV through a Roku device and Apple TV. The up side is that my son watches mostly documentaries and sees very few commercials. The down side is that we still watch too much television. I limit his tv watching to no more than an hour a day (but it is usually less than that) but my own consumption is way more than that. I grew up watching tv while I did homework and it’s a habit I have yet to kick.
