So you are on your way to being a green mom or dad, but naturally you want to teach the same love of nature and the environment to your child.  Reading books and talking with your children about the importance of respecting the earth is the best way to do this.  During my time as a mom, I have compiled a list of my top 10 favorite picture books that teach about nature, the environment and being green:

The Lorax by Dr. Suess

The Curious Garden by Peter Brown

The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein

The Little House by Virginia Lee Burton

To Market, To Market by Nikki McClure

The Boy Who Grew Flowers by Jennifer Wojtowicz

Planting a Rainbow by Lois Ehlert

I Was Born in a Tree and Raised By Bees by Jim Arnosky

A Seed is Sleepy by Dianna Hutts Aston
